Staff Engineer

Rock Solid Engineering, Inc.

Immediate opening for a full time Staff Engineer. 

We specialize in providing Geotechnical Reports (soil reports) for projects, large and small. We are celebrating 20 years in business and have over 28 years of experience in the industry. We are located in Watsonville, California and mostly serve Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito and Santa Clara Counties.

Our projects include custom homes, coastal development, additions to existing homes, muli-family residential developments, commercial buildings, mixed use buildings and land divisions. 

Responsibilities:

§ Proposal preparation including scope, budget, schedule, and resource management.

§ Field exploration including logging of drill holes and test pits.

§ Laboratory testing. 

§ Perform geotechnical engineering analyses (bearing capacity, earth pressures, liquefaction, slope stability, etc.).

§ Report Preparation.

§ Observation and testing services during construction operations.

§ Review of plans for conformance with reports.

Requirements:

§ BS or MS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering. 

§ Experience in the geotechnical field preferred but not required.

§ Be flexible, able to work independently, detailed-oriented, well organized, self-motivated, able to communicate well verbally and in writing.
